Physiotherapy Services
What to expect at Meadow Physio & Pilates
As a Chartered Physiotherapist Sarah considers the body as a whole, rather than just focusing on the individual aspects of an injury or illness- a holistic approach. As a horse rider herself, Sarah is able to bridge the gap between standard physiotherapy services with the understanding and knowledge of what a horse rider needs to be able to achieve to get back to their leisure or competitive riding time.
Some of the main approaches used by Sarah include:
-
education and advice – She can give general advice about things that can affect your daily lives, such as posture and correct lifting or carrying techniques to help prevent injuries
-
movement, tailored exercise and physical activity advice – exercises may be recommended to improve your general health and mobility, and to strengthen specific parts of your body
-
manual therapy – where the physiotherapist uses their hands to help relieve pain and stiffness, and to encourage better movement of the body
-
acupuncture is a valuable treatment modality within my physiotherapy practice which a large number of patients have reported beneficial. For more details about acupuncture please go to www.aacp.org.uk. As a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) & (HCPC) I am regulated and duty bound to maintain high standards of care and continued professional development. I qualified in the practice of acupuncture in January 2009 and since then have completed numerous clinical course updates. The practice holds all relevant Environmental Health Certificates in order to practice.
